Vinnukum Mannukum (2001) is a love-comedy Tamil language movie directed by the Tamil Director Rajakumar. It stars Vikram, Sarath Kumar, Devayani and Kushboo in the lead roles. It flopped miserably at the box-office.

Plot

A youth's obsession for an actress who comes to his village for a shooting, and she mocking him and his family for even daring to think of proposing marriage to her - 'ordinary mortals like you daring to touch a star?' - forms the first part. The second part is about how the youth Selvam, on brother Shaktivel's orders, goes to the city to woo the actress and gets her to marry him. When the story shifts to the city it turns clichéd. The villain (a film financier) appears, the hero is bashed up and the actress finally learns about 'Love'.[1]

Production

A shooting schedule took place at the AVM Studios in Chennai, where Vikram celebrated his birthday on the sets, with the unit members and Sharat Kumar.

Set in rural milieu, 'Vinnukum Mannukkum' is about the wealthy son of a village zamindar who falls in love with a film actress. The repercussion that follows forms the rest of the story.

Some scenes were shot of Vikram, Devayani, Sharat Kumar and Khushbu.

On the technical side, the film has Kuppusamy as editor, Maniraja as the set designer, Akilan as the cinematographer and Sirppi as the music director. The film has a supporting cast of M.N.Nambiar, Ramesh Khanna, Vinu Chakravarty, Rathan, Sukumari, Kaka Radhakrishnan, Manoram, Rami Reddy, S.N.Lakshmi, Maylsami and Kumaresan. Producer Swaninathan of 'Lakshmy Movie Makers' plays a cameo role.[2]
